I do not really use it for timing (I think there are better programs for that), but it is excellent for effects, so technically I do two "passes". Aegisub is highly customizable and hence has a large amount of user-changeable options. But even then I need to change focus frequently. These are available in the options dialog box, found in the View menu. This page is a reference of all the available options. ![]() Aegisub stores all its configuration in a plain text file called config.json which by default is stored in the user directory. Let's say I am trying to translate a text sign. I might want to change the translation in order to fit it on the screen or just change line breaks. I am not really sure how I could do such a thing in a single pass without changing focus. Ergo, I am not sure how wanting to be able to change focus via keyboard goes agains Aegisub philosophy.Īs for grid, I do not think I need to focus it as such (using time/next and time/prev I can already move between subtitles) but I sometimes focus it when I press arrow key down to move between the subtitles, which even after years still feel natural.īut what i would need is an action to focus the text field of a subtitle selected in the subtitle grid and then move back so that video is focus (=there is no cursor in the text field).
